A Note from the Principals

Happy Catholic Schools Week!

As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, we want to thank you for choosing Catholic education and for entrusting us with the formation of your children each day. The SJF staff and I are honored to be a part of your lives!

Our second chess session of the year is set to start this Friday BUT we only have 4 students enrolled. If your child is interested, please see the flyer below and enroll today so the class isn't cancelled. Thank you!

RE-ENROLLMENT: Please log in to your FACTS Family Portal and use the re-enrollment link to secure your child’s spot for next year. To be guaranteed a seat for the 2026–2027 school year, current families must complete re-enrollment by January 31. After that date, enrollment will be based on available space, and we cannot guarantee placement for your child. A $100 deposit per child (applied toward the registration fee) is required to complete the re-enrollment process.

If you plan to enroll a new sibling, please log in to your FACTS portal and click “Apply” to begin a new application.

Tips and Tricks for Parenting in the 21st Century

Digital Resource: Here is a gentle reminder to check your child's phone on a regular basis. Many bigger problems can be prevented by checking what they are doing online and texting to their friends. Saint of the Day 1/27
Every saint has a story & while on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 1524, Saint Angela Merici was struck with blindness. She proceeded to visit the sacred shrines, seeing them with her spirit. On the way back while praying before a crucifix, Angela’s sight was restored.

A Note from the Principals

Happy Tuesday!

We'll be having a school presentation from NED about resiliency in our lives tomorrow. We'll be selling yoyos at lunch time for the next week. Please see the attached flyer.

Sunday is the beginning of Catholic Schools Week- where we celebrate Catholic School Education! Please join us for Mass on Sunday at 9am followed by a pancake breakfast to sponsor our choir. See the flyer below for our fun activities.

Lice notice: We have been made aware of a case of head lice in our school community; please check your child’s hair this evening and treat promptly if lice or nits are found. Social media promises connection but often delivers comparison and insecurity. Especially for girls, it fuels anxiety and self-doubt.
Try this: Delay social media until at least high school. In the meantime, help your child connect in real life — clubs, sports, church, or service.

Saint of the Day 1/19
Every saint has a story & Saint Fabian was a Roman layman who came into the city from his farm one day as clergy and people were preparing to elect a new pope. Eusebius, a Church historian, says a dove flew in and settled on the head of Fabian. This sign united the votes of clergy and laity, and he was chosen unanimously.

Saint of the Day 1/12
Every saint has a story & Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys established a school for Indian girls in Montreal. At the age of 69, she walked from Montreal to Quebec in response to the bishop’s request to establish a community of her sisters in that city.

A Note from the Principals

Happy New Year!!

I hope that 2026 brings many positive surprises and new experiences for you and your family.

School starts on Wednesday, January 7th.

Uniforms: Now is a great time to refresh those uniforms & order whatever may be missing. Students must wear ties and cardigans/vests to mass every Friday. https://skobels.com/collections/st-jane-frances-de-chantal-school

PARKING: The church is finished repaving the lower lot. THANK YOU so much for your flexibility and patience during the construction. I know it was inconvenient. We are happy to be back to our regular drop-off and pick-up routines. Please remember to tell anyone picking up or dropping off these reminders:
-All families (with few exceptions for neighborhood families) should enter through Victory Blvd. for pickup and drop off.
-Please do NOT walk in through the Hamlin Gate.
-Please drive SLOWLY. There are children everywhere.
-Please stick to your colored pickup times. We kindly ask that you remain parked until the gates open so we can avoid lines to the street.
Blue 2:30-2:40 Monday-Thurs & 12:30-12:40 Fridays
Red 2:45-2:55 Monday-Thurs & 12:45-2:55 Fridays

Boredom is where creativity begins. When kids are constantly entertained, they lose the ability to imagine, explore, and self-direct.
Try this: When your child says, “I’m bored,” resist the urge to fix it. Say, “That’s great — I can’t wait to see what you come up with.”
