Good evening parents and guardians. This is Mrs. Benson with your weekly update for Monday, December 5 to Friday, December 9.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our Pan de Vida Fund Run. We raised over $1000 as well as donations of canned food.
We will continue our 12 Days of Christmas fundraiser with wear purple in honor of the second week of Advent on Monday, December 5, Day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas. Students who have donated the $12 may wear free dress as long as their top, bottom, or both are purple. Please note free dress must be appropriate. If you have questions please refer to our Family Handbook which can be found online on our website. On Tuesday, December 6 the 5th day of Christmas students may dress in green. The same free dress guidelines apply as mentioned above. On Wednesday, December 7 we will celebrate the 6th day of Christmas with a patriotic free dress day in honor of the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day. Students may dress in red white and blue. Cotton Candy will also be served. On December 8 we will celebrate the 7th Day of Christmas with brownies in honor of National Brownie Day. The 8th Day of Christmas is extra special….there will be no school as our teacher’s will be attending an in-service. Whew….a lot going on. I will fill you on the remaining days of Christmas in our next school blast. Flyers did go home explaining the event.
We continue to collect items, cash, or Dollar Store Gift Cards for our Santa’s Workshop. This is not required but you will receive hours for your donations. We had sign ups outside classrooms for wrapping gifts. As I mentioned last week sign ups were limited with only 5 per grade. If your grade was full we will try to fill you in to other classes’ empty spots. Thank you for volunteering. Santa’s Workshop will take place on Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7.
We are also collecting toys that will be donated to the Knights of Columbus and Toys for Tots for needy children this holiday.
Trimester one ends on Thursday, December 8. Report cards will go home on Monday, December 12.
Students will be attending Mass this week. Students will need to be in formal Mass Dress on Thursday, December 8 as it the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception. Mass will be at 8 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
As stated earlier, there will be no school on Friday, December 9 so the teachers may attend an in service.
A special thank you to everyone for your amazing generosity! I realize that we are asking for a lot of donations this Christmas season. We are doing so because our Catholic Faith calls us to give much to others. We are working to teach your children the importance of Charity and that Christmas is not about getting, but about giving. Thank you for your support!
Our Christmas program will take place on Thursday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m. More information will follow. Please note that December 15 will be a minimum day with dismissal at 12:40 p.m. There will be not after school care on December 15. Please make arrangements to pick up your child by 1:00 p.m. so our staff can get to a much deserved holiday party.
Thank you, have a great night, and God bless.
