Good evening parents and guardians. This is Mrs. Benson with your Weekly Update for Monday, November 7 to Friday, November 11.
A huge thank you to everyone who made last night’s Talent Show such a huge success.
Our Pan de Vida food pantry is empty! I am challenging all or our students and faculty to fill the pantry this week! Please bring in non-perishable food items to fill the pantry.
The Book Fair is back in town! Our Book Fair will be open Monday through Thursday of this week at lunch recess and after school until 3:30 p.m. Books make great gifts!
We will be launching a new fundraiser called Scrip Sense on Monday, November 7. Please read the flyer that is going home and consider registering. The basic premise is you shop online as you normally do and the school earns a percentage of the sales. It truly is a win win for both you and our school! The site is our very own and is secure. One may only register if invited.
All students will take part in a Safety Assembly on Monday, November 7. Times will vary as the assembly is age appropriate.
Make sure you vote in the election on Tuesday, November 8.
On Tuesday, November 8 our school nurse will be here facilitating vision exams for all students.
On Wednesday, November 9 in the afternoon our 8th grade will be visited by Harvard Westlake High School.
There will be no school on Friday, November 11 in honor of Veterans’ Day. Please take a moment to thank a veteran and please keep Mr. Jeffrey in your prayers as he is graduating from boot camp this weekend.
If you are not satisfied with your child’s school photo or your child did not have their photo taken, photo retakes will take place on Wednesday, November 16. All students who wish to be in our yearbook must have their photo taken. Order forms were sent home this past week.
A reminder that there is no pick up, drop off, or parking on Hamlin Street at any time. Parking on Hamlin Street creates a dangerous situation. Please respect and follow school policy and use our Victory lot for pick up and drop off. There is also a chance you will be ticketed as the area is clearly marked as a no parking zone during school hours.
A save the date reminder for carnival will be going home on Monday, November 7. Keep an eye out for it. We will also begin signups for carnival in the next week or so. Our first sign up will be for cleanup and once the slots are full we will add additional sign ups. Please note that there will be limited slots for specific areas so you will want to sign up as soon as possible.
Thank you, have a great week, and God bless.
