Good evening parents and guardians. This is Mrs. Benson with your weekly update for Monday, October 24 to Friday, October 28.
This message is arriving one day earlier so I can remind you we have our Family Mass and Pancake Breakfast tomorrow, Sunday, October 23. Grades 5 and 6 are sponsoring the breakfast which begins at 7 a.m. Mass begins at 9 a.m. I hope to see all of you there.
Grades 6-8 will be attending the Christian Service 4 Life event this Tuesday, October 25 at the Galen Center at USC. This is an amazing event which will fill the students spiritually.
We will have our weekly Mass Friday, October 28 at 8 a.m. in the Church followed by our Student of the Month assembly after Mass. Students will be honored for excellence in Math and for practicing Responsibility.
I also have a few reminders for everyone. Please remember that when you attend Mass there is no picture taking or video as this distracts from the sacredness of Mass.
Halloween is fast approaching. We will have our Costume parade on Monday, October 31 at 11:30 a.m. Our Halloween Festival will begin around 12:15 p.m. and continue until 2 p.m. Please be aware that students must be supervised by parents during the Halloween festival. Students whose parents cannot be present will be placed in our after school care program and parents will be charged. Our After School Care staff will supervise the students at the festival. This is a great opportunity to earn service hours. Sign-ups are available outside of the classrooms. There are limited slots for sign up so sign up soon. Please do not erase, scratch out etc. others names. Thank you.
Please be conscious of the fact that we are a Catholic School when choosing your child’s costume. Students are not allowed to wear masks, carry pretend weapons etc. Please leave these at home. Costumes are not to be overly frightening or gory. Costumes must be modest and cover the majority of the body. No clown costumes will be allowed this year. Students may wear make-up. All students must be wearing laced closed toed shoes.
Parent teacher conferences will take place Tuesday, November 1 to Thursday, November 3. Please note that Tuesday, November 1 conferences will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the morning and students will have a late start with school beginning at 10 a.m. Dismissal will be at 2:45 p.m. On Wednesday and Thursday conferences will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and students will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m. Please plan accordingly. If you wish to schedule a conference; please call or email your child’s teacher.
Please make sure your child is on time every day. It is disruptive to both class and Mass when students arrive late. Also, students are to be in appropriate uniform at all times. Thank you.
Thank you, have a great week, and God bless.
