REAR ADMIRAL MIKE McDEVITT
Mike McDevitt is a proud graduate of St. Jane Frances de Chantal from the class of 1955. Under the tutelage of Sister Sarah, SJF would prepare Mike for his future goal of attending Notre Dame High School. At NDHS he would eventually earn a navy scholarship to USC. He would continue his education by earning a graduate degree from Georgetown University. Mr. McDevitt's naval career spanned 34 years including the command of an aircraft carrier group. Mike stated, "I credit St. Jane Frances for enabling me to accomplish my subsequent goals of attending Notre Dame High School, attaining a college scholarship to USC and proudly serving my country in the United States Navy."
"Kiki" is also a proud graduate of St. Jane Frances de Chantal from the class of 2017. She is currently a senior at Harvard-Westlake High School. She has signed a letter of intent to attend Stanford University in the fall where she will join the Lady Cardinal's basketball team. "Kiki" stated, "My fondest memories of SJF was the family-like atmosphere. We had a great sense of community. The 8th Graders would be very involved with helping the kindergarten and first graders acclimate to the school." She also described the importance of her faith formation. "Prayer was important part of our daily lives at SJF". She continues that tradition even today. "I say a quick prayer before every basketball game. I also prayed really hard when deciding on which college to attend. So, faith is clearly a big part of my life." The entire SJF family wishes her all the best as she heads off to college and chases her dreams. Go Cardinals! :)
