A Note from the Principals

Good afternoon SJF Families!
We hope you are doing well & staying healthy. We are looking forward to meeting with you this week at our all-parent meeting on zoom. We will be discussing the state of our school, 2021-2022 registration, & our exciting plans for next year! Join us Thursday, Jan 28 @ 6pm. bitl.y/SJFZoom password: SJF

We are celebrating Catholic Schools Week this week. Check us out on Facebook & Instagram to see all of the fun things going on in our community this week (search @SJFNoHo).

Fundraising: Our chocolate sale Begins TODAY! We will have boxes for pickup in the school office. If you sell just 1 box of chocolate, your child will be invited to a virtual magic show in February! (See the prizes below). Please note that this is our last guaranteed fundraiser this year. If you have any fundraising obligations left, it may be the last time opportunity.
*If you have any questions about how much you  owe for fundraising the totals are on schoolspeak (reminder: if you pay the $550 Family Donation you are not required to do fundraising- BUT it helps :)
Service Hours: Since we are now half way through the school year and are still distance learning, we will not be requiring service hours this year. IF we are able to have the carnival, we will require the 6 mandatory service hours then but that is still unknown. THANK YOU to all of the families who have volunteered and donated to your teachers. We appreciate it very much!
*If you have any questions about how much you  owe for fundraising the totals are on schoolspeak (reminder: if you pay the $550 Family Donation you are not required to do fundraising- BUT it helps :)

ART CLASS: We haven't made art class a requirement this year so as to not put additional stress on your families. However, If your student has been enjoying Mrs. Holcomb's weekly lessons and you would like to pick up additional art supplies, please email Mrs. Holcomb at [email protected] before Friday & she'll put together a bag of supplies to pick up in the office for her lessons next month!

Save the date: Please join us on zoom January 28th at 6pm for an all-parent state of the school meeting with Mrs. Giron & Mr. Ranney.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for Mrs. Yadon (Mother of Kiley, Class of 2020) who is in the ICU due to COVID.

THANK YOU for praying for Frankie's Mom in first grade. She is currently still in the ICU but is talking and responsive! We pray that she gets better and is able to come home soon.

Many Blessings!
Mrs. Giron & Mr. Ranney

A Note from the Principals

Happy New Year!
Thank you all for your donations to Pan de Vida. We were able to re-stock their food pantry shelves right before the holidays when it is most needed. You are so generous!

Today was the first day back to school & I know your teachers missed their students very much!
Preschool through 2nd graders:
Our school waiver is still current and we are allowed to have students from Preschool-2nd grade on campus. As you know, under the advice of the Archdiocese we have decided to return on campus on January 19th for these grade levels. Additional guidance from the CDC has recommended we keep students at home until January 29th. HOWEVER, after speaking with the teachers and families we have decided to remain on course to reopen in-person on Jan. 19th. We feel in-person learning is most effective and that it is unfair to families to continue pushing dates. This being said, we recognize some families will want to wait until at least February to return to campus & we respect that decision. We also would recommend moving to a 12:00 dismissal schedule to limit eating and resting in the classrooms. Each teacher has a plan in place for those choosing to stay home after January 19th. Please reach out to them as soon as possible.
3rd-8th graders:
There have been no updates as to when we will be allowed to bring these grades onto campus full-time. I will continue to push for their return as soon as possible. Until then, we do have daycare available if needed.

Save the date: Please join us on zoom January 28th at 6pm for an all-parent state of the school meeting with Mrs. Giron & Mr. Ranney.

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to Mrs. Holcomb ( Dec. 30), Mrs. Ramirez (Jan. 2), & Mrs. Redden (Jan.4) we hope you had a fantastic break with your loved ones!

CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Marra & his wife who are expecting their first baby in August!

REMINDERS:
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for Mrs. Yadon (Mother of Kiley, Class of 2020) who is in the ICU due to COVID.

Please take a minute to send up a prayer for Frankie's Mom in first grade. She is currently in the ICU after undergoing a routine outpatient procedure. We pray that she gets better soon and is able to come home.

Many Blessings!
Mrs. Giron & Mr. Ranney
