A Note from the Principals

Good morning SJF Families,

We ask that you keep Mrs. Holcomb (our art teacher) and her family in your prayers. Her husband died unexpectedly in his sleep last Thursday night.

We are looking for a few strong dads to help us move several whiteboards from the driveway to storage either today or tomorrow. We would be glad to give several service hours for your help. Please call the office if you are able to help. Thank you!

Halloween:
7:45am Parade
9am: Trunk or Treat
10am: in-n-Out lunch starts serving
12:30 dismissal
*PTO will have free water and snacks for sale. The lunch service will provide regular snack service for $1.

Wednesday: All Saints Day Mass at 8am- wear mass attire

Friday: No mass.

We are looking for more students in grades 3-8 who are interested in Altar Serving this year. This would be a commitment to serve mass during our Friday masses and at least one Sunday a month. Please let Mrs. Giron know if your child is interested in Altar Serving.

Santa's Workshopwill be back this year and we are looking for donations. We are looking for items that would make good Christmas gifts. All donations will be given service hours ($30/hour). A Note from the Principals

Good morning SJF Families,

Halloween is next week!
Students may wear their costumes to school on Tuesday (12:30 dismissal).
Reminder that all costumes must be school appropriate with no: blood/gore, weapons, bare stomachs or short shorts, open toed shoes. If you have any doubts please ask your classroom teacher.
We will have a costume parade during morning assembly at 7:45am. All parents are welcome to stay for the parade and for the trunk-or-treat fun starting at 9am. Thank you to those who have volunteered their cars to be decorated with your room parent. All other parents who would like to volunteer, please sign up on school speak today for your desired grade level.

We are asking for any candy or small toy donations for Trunk-or-Treat. Please no candy with peanuts. Donations for candy will be 1 hour per 2lb bag or $30/hr for small toys.

Coaching: We are winding down the season of our fall sports and are in search for volunteers who are interested in becoming CYO certified coaches for the winter sports- boys basketball and
girls basketball. As coaches, we are committed to creating a positive culture for our sports at SJF. We want leaders who are committed to being present for practices during the week and
games throughout the season. It is a mandate that any/all coaches must attend a Play Like A Champion Today Coaches class to earn a CYO PLC Coaches Card. You also must be Virtus trained. If this sounds of interest to you please reach out to me, and we can discuss further. Coach Minnock [email protected]

Dress code notifications are our way of communicating that your child is not wearing the proper uniform. We do let the students know directly, but we think it is important to communicate directly with the parent when possible. Uniform infractions do NOT go into their permanent file.

A Note from the Principals

Good morning SJF Families,

You may have heard in the news that some private and Catholic schools received an email threat today which resulted in them closing their campuses for the day. St. Jane Frances did not receive a threat and we have no reason to believe our school is not safe. As always, our school staff and security will remain vigilant about school safety.

We are looking for more students in grades 3-8 who are interested in Altar Serving this year. This would be a commitment to serve mass during our Friday masses and at least one Sunday a month. Please let Mrs. Giron know if your child is interested in Altar Serving.

Please remember that even on free dress days students should be dressing modestly with no:
-ripped jeans
-tank tips or short shirts
-shorts/skirts should be not shorter than 1 1/2 inches above the knee.
-no leggings as pants
-extra baggy pants are not allowed
-Open toed shoes/sandals or slippers are not allowed

Wednesday (10/18) wear orange shirts and school bottoms for Unity Day for National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.

Saturday is California's Great Shakeout. It is the perfect day to talk through what you and your family shoud do in case of an emergency. Are you prepared? https://www.shakeout.org/

FINAL WEEK to purchase raffle tickets! Did you know that our church is celebrating its 75th anniversary? They are celebrating by holding a celebratory mass with the Archbishop on October 22nd at 11am. Everyone is invited! They will also be holding a special raffle on that day for cash prizes. The BEST part is that 100% of the profits from the raffle are dedicated to our gym renovations!! Raffle tickets are available in the school or church office for $5 (If you buy 4 tickets, we will credit you 1 service hour!). Good luck & thank you for your support!!

A Note from the Principals

Good morning SJF Families,

Tomorrow we will have an assembly for grades K-8. The NED assembly teaches about never giving up and having a positive mindset. The presenters use yoyo ticks to tell their stories and then have them for sale after the assembly. Yoyos will be on sale at recess for the next 3 days starting at $10. See flyer below.

A Note from the Principals

Good morning SJF Families,
Please join us for the PTO meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, at 6pm in the theatre room.
Thank you to everyone who helped with our Hispanic Heritage event and for everyone who came out to the PTO movie night on Friday!

Blessing of the Animals will be on Wednesday 10/4 during morning assembly at 7:45am. Students are encouraged to bring a pet, a photo, a drawing, or a stuffed animal to have blessed. ALL live pets MUST go home at the end of the prayer service.

There is no school on Monday due to Columbus Day/ Indigenous People's Day.

Reminders from last week:
We are having a cereal drive for Pan de Vida, our church's food pantry. Please bring in a box of cereal to donate this week! All donations will go to families in need in our community.
