Dear St. Jane Frances de Chantal School Community,

Our Gospel reading this Sunday calls us to reflect on the generosity of God's kingdom. May we begin each day this week with gratitude for the many gifts God gives us. Speaking of this week, here is what is coming up:

This is the first year that our school is taking part via a grant on the Onward Readers program . The main goal of the program is to support readers across the grade levels in literacy and comprehension. Our reading teachers in TK-6th grade go to professional development several times a year, including this week.
The Kindness Club is collecting $1 to help survivors of Hurricane Irma & Hurricane Maria. We greatly appreciate your support, most especially your prayers.
Two surveys are going out tomorrow : the Home Language Survey and Family Poverty Survey. The information is used for generating funding, such as grants, and identifying supports for students . The survey data will be kept strictly confidential. It is essential that every family turn this in by Thursday . We will have a special treat on Friday for all those that turn in the surveys and emergency card form - thanks for your assistance!
Santa's Workshop is extended an extra week. Thank you for helping the community by turning in the $30 per family.

Week of September 18-22, 2017

Dear St. Jane Frances de Chantal School Community,

A few reminders as we start this week:

The first month’s tuition is due (Sept. 10 & 20); please check your tuition agreements for details. If you still have not signed your tuition agreement, please see Ms. Rygiel or Ms. Crisanto this week. Thanks for being attentive to this!
Kinder & 7th grade students - Updated immunizations need to be completed and brought in before the end of September.
Thank you for supporting the Kindness Club - we collected $500 to help survivors of Hurricane Harvey. We are so proud to see our students and families truly support those in need!
With the Pan de Vida's cereal drive, our community has collected 211 cereal boxes, 2 bags of rice and 3 large cup-o-noodle boxes. Thanks for your generosity!
On Sept. 22, we will be collecting $30 to help purchase items for Santa’s Workshop. Your service card will be marked - it will be via the oldest child or if you have an only child. It is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Thank you for everyone who has already contributed.

Week of September 4-8, 2017

Dear St. Jane Frances de Chantal School Community,

Thank you to all of you who participated in the Back to School Night raffle. Congrats to our 3 families who received free service hours from the raffle. The winners were announced last Monday during morning announcements.

A few reminders:

STAR testing finishes this week.
Volleyball tryouts were postponed last week due to the heat. They are this Wed. & Thurs. from 3:30-5 PM. If you need more information, you can talk to Coach Dominguez (3rd grade).
Thank you to those that have responded to the call of being a room parent! We are still looking for parents to volunteer in grades 1, 4, 5, & 7. If you have questions about being a room parent, you can talk to Mrs. Whited (Kindergarten).
The Kindness Club, made up of mainly 5th & 6th graders, perform acts of kindness throughout the year. On Tues. - Fri., we will be collecting $2 in support of helping survivors of Hurricane Harvey.

Pan de Vida is hosting a cereal drive. When you donate a regular size of cereal from Tues.-Fri., your child will get free dress on Thurs., 9/14.
The Knights of Columbus, one of our parish ministries, is hosting a disco dinner dance on Sat., 9/16 in the Parish Gym. Proceeds will go to the school and parish. Attached is a flier.
