A Note from the Principals

Good afternoon SJF Families!

We had a crazy busy day on Monday! We are just SO excited to have more students back on campus with us everyday.

We would like to give a big shoutout to Allison G. in TK who sold 19 boxes in our candy sale!! We have about 10 boxes left in the school office which is amazing for this year when we didn't have many students on campus. Thank you for all of your hard work. All of the prizes will be here soon & our virtual magic show is scheduled for this Friday at 10am. You should receive the link today :)

Every year at this time our teachers review a child abuse prevention program with our students. This program is called "Empowering God's Children" and is intended to equip our students with the tools they need to remove themselves from any uncomfortable situation from bullying to abuse. Please see our communication below for additional information.

We have noticed that EVERYONE needs bigger uniforms ;P
We will be having a used uniform sale all day on Friday, Feb. 26 from 7:30am to 3:30pm.

Cereal Drive: One of the pillars during Lent is Almsgiving. Pan de Vida is in need of boxed cereal during this time of your. Let's help them stock their shelves. Please bring a box or two of cereal to school anytime before Easter break. Thank you for helping!

Stations of the Cross: Classes will begin presenting Stations of the Cross Weekly on our all-school zoom every Thursday at 9am in Lent. This week will be sponsored by the 2nd Grade. Please join us!

2021-2022 School Year: Financial Aid forms are now available for the new school year. If you will need ANY AMOUNT of discounted tuition, you must fill out the financial aid form from CEF by March 31, 2021. The form is available HERE: bit.ly/CEF2021

PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for Mrs. Yadon (Mother of Kiley, Class of 2020) who is in the ICU due to COVID.

Many Blessings!
Mrs. Giron & Mr. Ranney
We are committed to your child’s safety and well-being.  Almost daily, we hear of incidents of child sexual abuse happening. That is why learning how to prevent it is important. We, as adults, must learn how to keep our children and young people safe, but that we also teach them to keep themselves safe.

St. Jane Frances School will present a child sexual abuse prevention program, called VIRTUS® Empowering God's Children, to our students this month. The creators of the Empowering God's Children™ program developed the Touching Safety program which consists of “Five Safety Rules” children need to learn to help keep themselves safe.  They will also learn about internet and technology safety, setting boundaries, bullying and related topics.

This program is provided by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and youth to protect all children from sexual abuse. For more information on the Empowering God's Children program, you may visit the VIRTUS Online™ website at www.virtus.org.

If you want to teach this program to your child yourself, an Opt-Out form is available upon request in the school office.

A Note from the Principals

Good afternoon SJF Families!

Next week is the beginning of Lent. For us, this is a season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that prepares us for the resurrection of Jesus on Easter. Since so much is going on, I thought I'd send the newsletter a little early this week :)

Fat Tuesday: On this day of feasting before the season of fasting we'd like to give our students at home a little bag to prepare them for the season. Please come by the office today & pick up a lent bag for your students. It contains a rosary, Lent map, Stations of the Cross booklet, and treats for Fat Tuesday! It will also have take-home ashes for Ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday: Mass @ 9am. Students on campus & those at home are invited to join us for mass outside with Fr. Antonio. If you'd prefer to stay home, please join us on our all-school zoom for mass. Be sure to have your take-home ashes ready.
