Welcome back after a week-long break! I hope it was filled with rest and creating memorable moments with your loved ones. Looking ahead, as we end the liturgical year, here is what is coming up: · On behalf of the 8th graders and the Kindness Club, thank you for the Thanksgiving food donations. Together, we donated over $1000 worth of food items! This will go to serve around 1,500-1,600 people. Also, thanks to 5th grade - they brought in the most items and received the Gobble Gobble Award. As part of the award, 5th grade has free dress this Tuesday. • Please be on the watch for how we can help children through December’s Toys for Tots. Welcome to the beginning of Trimester II and the start of Conferences week! In order to prepare for a great conference with your teacher, I have attached a handout that can be helpful. Together, with your teachers, we can all help your child do their very best. Looking ahead, here is what is coming up: · Conferences are this week and dismissal for Wednesday-Friday are 12:40 PM. · Pumpkin/Apple Pie - Fliers were handed out earlier this week. They are selling for $4, along with whip cream & milk. Pre-order is due in the beginning of the week! · Santa’s Workshop – Every classroom will have a sign-up sheet for volunteers to help set-up/wrap presents. This is a great way to do your service hours. (You need to be VIRTUS trained to wrap presents.) · VIRTUS training is coming up this Saturday. You can sign up by calling the parish office. (818) 985 - 8600 · Nurse Wood has sent a flier on an upcoming Diabetes Expo coming up this weekend. It is attached below. It was great praying with many of you at Family Mass today! Looking ahead, here is what is coming up/notes for you: • Thank you to all of the parents that came to support Mrs. Boyd Day and volunteered for the Halloween Festival. Mrs. Boyd has been such an integral part for the past 26 years and it was fitting that there was such a great outpouring love and support for her. As for the Halloween Festival, it was amazing to see the hard work and dedication as each grade’s booths came together. Your commitment to the school made both of those days memorable. What a blessing to be in such a caring community! • STAR Testing is this week. This helps the teachers support your child’s growth and learning. Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time and has already eaten a balanced breakfast.
