View this email in your browser A Note from the Principals Good morning SJF Families, You may have heard in the news that some private and Catholic schools received an email threat today which resulted in them closing their campuses for the day. St. Jane Frances did not receive a threat and we have no reason to believe our school is not safe. As always, our school staff and security will remain vigilant about school safety.  We are looking for more students in grades 3-8 who are interested in Altar Serving this year. This would be a commitment to serve mass during our Friday masses and at least one Sunday a month. Please let Mrs. Giron know if your child is interested in Altar Serving.  Please remember that even on free dress days students should be dressing modestly with no:  -ripped jeans -tank tips or short shirts -shorts/skirts should be not shorter than 1 1/2 inches above the knee.  -no leggings as pants -extra baggy pants are not allowed -Open toed shoes/sandals or slippers are not allowed https://handbook.la-archdiocese.org/schools/07110/chapter-2/section-2-14 Wednesday (10/18) wear orange shirts and school bottoms for  Unity Day for National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. Saturday is California's Great Shakeout. It is the perfect day to talk through what you and your family shoud do in case of an emergency. They are celebrating by holding a celebratory mass with the Archbishop on October 22nd at 11am. Everyone is invited! They will also be holding a special raffle on that day for cash prizes. The BEST part is that 100% of the profits from the raffle are dedicated to our gym renovations!! Raffle tickets are available in the school or church office for $5 (If you buy 4 tickets, we will credit you 1 service hour!). Good luck & thank you for your support!! Reminders from last week: Santa's Workshopwill be back this year and we are looking for donations. We are looking for items that would make good Christmas gifts. All donations will be given service hours ($30/hour). We have put together an Amazon list with acceptable uniforms. This list includes, pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers, ties, & mass shirts (it does NOT include PE uniform, polos, or mass sweaters).
