Week of October 30-November 3, 2017

Dear St. Jane Frances de Chantal School Community, 

We have a busy and holy-filled week ahead of us! From celebrating Mrs. Boyd to Halloween to All Saints’ & All Souls’ Day, it will surely be memorable.
Looking ahead, here is what is coming up/notes for you:
· Tomorrow is Mrs. Boyd Day. At 1:15 PM, there is an all school assembly to celebrate Mrs. Boyd, our beloved art teacher’s retirement. You are welcome to attend the festivities in the gym!
· Halloween Schedule – 
o 10 AM – Parade
o 10:45 AM – Students are back in their classrooms
o 11 AM – Festival Begins/Students begin to be dismissed from their classrooms
o 12:40 PM – Festival Ends
· Halloween Costume Guidelines – 

• • Students may wear their costume to school.
  • Please avoid costumes with overly violent themes, suggestive &/or offensive costumes.
  • All students must wear laced tennis shoes with their costume (No heels, slip on shoes, etc). This is for safety purposes.
  • No masks & weapons are allowed at any time while on school grounds, including Halloween Harvest festival.

• Wednesday, November 1st is All Saints’ Day and is a holy day of obligation. To celebrate this feast day, there is an all school mass at 8 AM. Also, Friday will still have an all school mass. Please wear mass attire on both days. 
• The Kindness Club visited a convalescent home and brought some Halloween cheer to its residents, along with homemade cards from the various grades, donated books and treats.

• 10/31 - Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg
• 11/1 - All Saints' Day
• 11/2 - All Souls’ Day
• 11/3 - Saint Martin de Porres

• 11/5 – Venerable Solanus Casey (Before becoming a saint, a person would be considered venerable. The next step after that would be considered blessed.)

• 10/30 – Mrs. Boyd Day (Assembly at 1:15 PM in Gym)
• 10/30, 11/1, 11/6 – Girls B Volleyball Game
• 10/31 – Halloween Parade/Halloween Fall Festival/Minimum Day (12:40 Dismissal)
• 11/1 - All Saints’ Day; All School Mass
• 11/2 - All Souls’ Day
• 11/2-15 - STAR Testing
• 11/3 - All School Mass
• 11/5 – Daylight Savings, Family Mass & Breakfast, Swim Meet
• 11/9 - Trimester I Ends
• 11/10 – No School (Veterans’ Day)
• 11/18 – VIRTUS Training in English (This is required to volunteer in the presence of students.)
