Week of September 25-29, 2017

Dear St. Jane Frances de Chantal School Community,
 
Our Gospel reading this Sunday calls us to reflect on the generosity of God's kingdom. May we begin each day this week with gratitude for the many gifts God gives us. Speaking of this week, here is what is coming up:

• This is the first year that our school is taking part via a grant on the Onward Readers program . The main goal of the program is to support readers across the grade levels in literacy and comprehension. Our reading teachers in TK-6th grade go to professional development several times a year, including this week. 
• The Kindness Club is collecting $1 to help survivors of Hurricane Irma & Hurricane Maria. We greatly appreciate your support, most especially your prayers.
• Two surveys are going out tomorrow : the Home Language Survey and Family Poverty Survey.  The information is used for generating funding, such as grants, and identifying supports for students . The survey data will be kept strictly confidential. It is essential that every family turn this in by Thursday .  We will have a special treat on Friday for all those that turn in the surveys and emergency card form - thanks for your assistance!
• Santa's Workshop is extended an extra week.  Thank you for helping the community by turning in the $30 per family.

• 10/1 - Swim Meet @ 9-2 PM (San Fernando Regional Pool)
• 10/3 - National Custodial Workers Day
• 10/4 - Blessing of the Animals 
• 10/8 - Family Mass
• Please keep in mind that Halloween is a half day.
