A Note from the Principal

We had so much fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day and Kite Day last week!

We will need a few parent volunteers this week. Mrs. Holcomb will need 1-2 parents during school hours tomorrow (Tuesday) anytime from 8-3pm. We will also need about 3 parents to run our cotton candy sale (back by student demand) on Wednesday from 2:15-3- we will have 2 cotton candy machines running this time! I will also need a parent to organize our spring book fair from May 24-27th (you would need to be on campus during that week). If you are interested in volunteering, please email Mrs. Castro at office@stjanefrancesschool.org.

Uniform reminder: Students should be in full school uniform every day. Uniform sweaters should be the only ones worn on campus. Uniform bottoms are skirts, PE sweats with the SJF logo, or navy blue uniform pants- not leggings or stretchy pants.

Stations of the Cross is on Thursday at 9:30am sponsored by kindergarten and 7th grades. Please join us in the church.

Thursday, the city will be repaving Hamlin Street. This was rescheduled from a few weeks ago. However, we have no more PD days to reschedule so we'll have to plan around this. If you regularly enter through Hamlin St., please remember to come in through the Victory parking lot that day & Leave yourself extra time for drop off and pickup. Please spread the word to any grandparents or family members who will come to campus on Thursday.

Please join us for Family Mass this Sunday at 9am.

Please keep Mrs. Taylor and her family in your prayers as she lost her brother last week.

A Note from the Principal

We are excited to announce that we will have double classrooms in Kindergarten, First Grade and Second grade next year. We want to set the school up for success for years to come as well as make sure our students and families are taken care of as we grow. Double classes will ensure that our student-to-teacher ratios remain low while giving teachers and students extra support in the classroom. We have seen tremendous growth in our first grade students this year as Mr. Ventura and Ms. D have worked all year as a team to support their students. We are looking forward to the exciting things happening next year.

We will be having a parent meeting for all families interested in receiving the sacrament of Communion this year. If your child is in second grade or older and you would like them to receive Communion please come to our informational meeting on Thursday at 5pm in the 2nd grade classroom.

The church will be hosting a VIRTUS recertification class on Friday at 7pm. If you'd like to sign up, call the church office.

Financial Aid applications for the 2022-23 school year are now available. If you receive ANY amount of discounted tuition you MUST complete the application BEFORE  March 31, 2022 to receive any type of tuition discounts in the next school year. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Giron or Mrs. Castro.

A Note from the Principal

Happy President's Day!

We are excited to announce that tomorrow (Tuesday) we will be welcoming the Smet Family, our superintendent, and other members of the Archdiocese leadership to our campus at 10am tomorrow for a check presentation ceremony. The Smet family has been one of the biggest donors and blessings to our school over the past 4 years. Please come by the school at 10am tomorrow if you are available to help us thank them in person!

Student of the Month will be on Friday. We will be celebrating students who demonstrate the character pillar of Integrity this month. It will also be the end of the second trimester. Report cards will be distributed next Friday, 3/4.

We are sad to announce that we will not be hosting a school carnival this year- the carnival company is doing business outside of California at this time. We have already booked the carnival for next year in February though! We will be taking the required 6 carnival hours off of the service hour requirements this year.

Happy birthday to Ms. Ascencio, our preschool aide (Tuesday 2/22). We pray that God bless her and her work with our youngest students.

A Note from the Principal

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

We had so much fun celebrating Catholic School's Week!  The teachers and I would like to thank all of you for the sacrifices you make to keep your student in our Catholic School.

All candy money is due today (Monday) to qualify for prizes. Any money not returned by tomorrow will be automatically charged to your Facts account.

Next week there will be street repaving on Hamlin Street on Tuesday 2/15. The whole street will be closed all day. In order to avoid any issues and inconveniences for our families we have decided to use one of our faculty professional development days on the 15th so there will be NO SCHOOL. This means we will have a 4 day weekend as we had already scheduled no school on the 14th. (We are simply rescheduling a professional development day- NOT taking extra days off)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Could you please do me a favor?
We have only had 20 parents fill out our parent survey. This  is important because it gives our team real feedback that will help us plan for the new school year. PLEASE fill out the parent survey if you have not done so already:
https://ousurvey.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5sVnk7T3iwDf3xk

Just a reminder:
If someone in your home has COVID, PLEASE keep your students home.
Let us stay vigilant, healthy, and in school!
FYI: The department of health has reduced their requirement for quarantine from 10 days to 5 days with a negative test after the 3rd day. IF there is a positive case in your child's classroom they can stay on campus IF (1) they are vaccinated or (2) they have recovered from COVID in the last 90 days or (3) they tested negative with us on Monday at school.

We still have about 50 boxes of chocolate left in the office. Stop by if you can sell one or two for us!

After our parent meeting, I spoke to our Choicelunch representative. She asked me to share the customer service options with you and encourages all parents with any issue to reach out:
 - Get help directly through the app using the HELP function.  There are FAQ's and a direct support submission option.
 - Contact us directly through the website.  If they scroll down to the bottom and click CONTACT US which will pop up a message box and they can follow the prompts.
 - Families can call in directly to 855-465-8624 and leave a message that creates a ticket where CS will call back asap.
 - Finally, we welcome them to email us at support@choicelunch.com.

Saint of the Day 1/17
Every saint has a story & At 20, Saint Anthony of Egypt was so moved by the Gospel message, “Go, sell what you have, and give to [the] poor” (Mark 10:21b), that he actually did just that with his large inheritance.

Saint Anthony, pray for us. Read more below:
